6 Traits of Financially Successful People

April 20, 2023 by Susan Paige Leave a Comment

You just landed your dream job, and you’re making more money than you ever have before. You moved into a new home with the help of Black Tie Moving Phoenix, and now it’s time to start learning how to manage your money as it’s a lot different than it was before. One of the best ways to learn how to effectively manage your money is to learn from those who have done it before. This is why we’re offering a list of 6 traits of finically successful people.

Let’s get into it!

Self-Discipline

A hallmark trait of financially successful people is self-discipline. People who have self-discipline are able to not be lured and tempted into veering off of their track, no matter how shiny or appealing an object may be. Instead, they stay true to themselves and are able to moderate their spending. They establish spending rules for themselves, and they easily stick to them.

Self-Awareness

It would be challenging to have self-discipline without a level of self-awareness. That’s why self-awareness is another trait that financially successful people have. People who are self-aware can see their strengths and weaknesses. With this self-awareness, they make better decisions and are less likely to behave or act (i.e., spend) on impulse. Instead, they take the time to bring their thoughts and feelings to their awareness in order to guide the choices they make in life.

Motivation

Financially successful people always have a goal in sight. In essence, they don’t save money just for the sake of it. They’ve mapped out and strategized how they want to manage their money and what the end result will be. The detailed plan they come up with is how they stay motivated to manage their money in a successful way. People who are financially successful keep their eye on the prize.

Organized

You’d be hard-pressed to find a financially successful person who wasn’t organized. Managing money requires budgeting and financial planning if you want to be effective at it. It’s no surprise that most financially successful people are master organizers. You can consider them to have a type A personality. They know exactly where their money goes, when it goes there, and what the end result will be.

Live Below Their Means

If you’ve ever encountered a finically successful person, you may have been surprised to see them dressed casually or living in a modest home. (In fact, Elon Musk spends a lot of his time in a house that’s worth less than $50,000 dollars!) People who are financially successful typically live below their means. They value money, and they don’t fall victim to spending it recklessly. Instead, they spend responsibly and most of their money goes to investments instead of tangible items. Their goal is to save and make money, not spend it.

Commitment

At the end of the day, one of the most common traits of a finically successful person is that they’re committed. After all, they wouldn’t be able to save and manage the way they do without this commitment. They’ve made a promise to themselves to be responsible and strategic with their money, and they hold strong when it comes to this.
